Three-hundred years of parallel, generation-by-generation stories beginning in the Plymouth Colony
Endnotes
Endnotes are organized using the same outline provided in the Contents.
Endnotes are numbered consecutively beginning with 1. for each biographical sketch.
We have opted to go with a free-form format for endnotes. Endnotes consist of bibliographic source citations, source citations for a variety of records and documents which provide vital records and probate court records, other sources of detailed information, as well as proof summaries and other forms of supporting discussion.
Generally bibliographic source citations will be listed first.
When records and documents which provide vital records and probate court records, and other sources of detailed information are cited, the format of the endnote will often include a summary of the information available, details which are being relied upon will be provided (often in quotes), and identification of the source being cited. In the event the document being cited is available online, a link to the online document will be provided.
In instances where there may be need to explain why the author believes a relationship between individuals exists (where it is not specifically stated in vital records) the discussion will appear in the endnotes instead of cluttering up the primary biographical sketch.
