Edward William Benson was born in Bowne, Kent County, Michigan on March 1, 1879. He was a son of Arba Benson Jr. and Kate Sterzik.
Maida Eudora Baker was born in Rollins, Lenawee County, Michigan on ——— 1886. She was an illegitimate child of [90] Wilhelmina Baker, born about two years prior to Wilhelmina’s first marriage which was to Sidney Milligan.
Herbert Jay Benson, was the younger of two sons of Edward and Maida. He wrote a handwritten memoir of his life which includes information on his parents. Much of what we provide here about Edward and Maida comes from their son, Herb.
Edward and Maida met at work. Maida worked in the office of a steel factory where Edward was a molder of cast iron parts. They were married in Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan on ————.
Maida petitioned for a divorce on November 10, 1931 and was granted an uncontested divorce on February 25, 1932. Maida died in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan on September 29, 1932.
Edward died in Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan on May 31, 1950.
