Almeda Pratt was a daughter of [80] Charles Pratt and Betsey Bill.

Almeda (Pratt) Baker (age 55, born in New York) and two of her daughters, Mina (age 19, born in Michigan) and Minnie (age 14, born in Michigan), were enumerated in the 1884 Michigan Census living in Woodstock, Lenawee County, Michigan on June 12, 1884. Almeda identified that her father was born in Massachusetts and her mother was born in Connecticut and that she had lived in Michigan for 51 years. This tells us that Almeda likely came to Michigan with her parents in about 1833 [1884 – 51 = 1833] at the age of about four [55 – 51 = 4].

The Probate Court for Hillsdale County, Michigan received information regarding the heirs of Almeda (Pratt) Baker on October 30, 1890. The heirs were identified as (1) David Baker, son, aged about 40, residing in Rollin, Michigan; (2) Adelbert E. Baker, son, aged 37, residing in Pittsford, Michigan; Mina Milligan, daughter, aged 25, residing in Pittsford, Michigan; and Minnie Baker, daughter, aged 22, residing in Pittsford, Michigan.

The obituary for David Baker, born on December 11, 1849 and died on May 23, 1920, identifies his parents as “Quakers” Isaac and Betsey Pratt Baker; and two surviving sisters as Mrs. Minnie Pope and Mrs. Mina Milligan.
Our story continues through their daughter [90b] Wilhelmina Baker.
