[47] John Bacon and Mary Hawes

Mary Hawes was born in Yarmouth on 10 June 1664. She was a daughter of [37] John Hawes and Desire Gorham.

John Bacon was born in Barnstable in June 1661. He was a son of Nathaniel Bacon and Hannah Mayo. [Nathaniel Bacon can be identified as in Barnstable as early as December 1642 (his marriage to Hannah Mayo on December 4, 1642). Nathaniel Bacon was the eldest son of William Bacon of Stretton, Rutland, England and born c1620. Hannah Mayo was a daughter of Rev. John Mayo who first settled in Barnstable by 1640 and was the first pastor of the church in Eastham.]

This ancestral line continues through their daughter, [56b] Desire Bacon.
